We take great pride in the success of our players. Five Star is a nationally renowned baseball organization known for the quality players we produce both on and off the baseball field. Well, Five Star Fayetteville is no exception. Our alumni and current elite players are second to none. We are proud to populate high school varsity teams, local and national top prospect teams, USA Baseball, MLB Youth Development Programs (Elite Development Invitational, Hank Aaron Invitational, Dream Series, Best In Class, MLB Pipeline and Prospect Pipeline), East Coast Pro, Futures Games, Perfect Game All-Amerian and many more distinctions to come.

Our Rich History and Affiliations
5 Star Fayetteville started off as Carolina Rebels. Carolina Rebels started 2011/12 with 5 players. These 5 players practiced until the Rebels got enough players to play in a tournament. After 3 months of practicing, the Rebels played their first 12U tournament. This group stayed together from 12U – 17U. In 2015, then Coach Bennett was approached by Andy Burress, owner of 5 Star, about making his team a 5 Star team. Andy liked the way the players played the game. As of Fall 2015, Carolina Rebels became known as 5 Star Fayetteville.
Donald J Bennett’s coaching career began in 1982 as a little league coach at St. Andrews Parks and Playground in Charleston, South Carolina. He joined the US Army in 1986. During that time he won 3 championships and led the 9-10 year old All Star team to a Runner-up finish in 1984. In 2002, Coach Bennett started coaching at the YMCA and the local Park & Recreational Center. While living at Fayetteville, NC, he coached 4 years (2011-2015) at Pine Forest Middle School. In 4 years, the middle school baseball team lost 4 games total. In January 2011, Coach Bennett retired from the US Army and started coaching travel baseball and developing players in baseball. Coach Bennett started developing players and started the Carolina Rebels based out of Fayetteville, NC in 2012. The Rebels became a well-known in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida because of their hard play and willingness to take on any team. In 2015, Perfect Game had the Rebels ranked in the top 40 in the 15U Division. Serving the baseball communities has been a priority for Donald. In 2018, Carolina Rebels joined forces with 5 Star National out of Warner Robins, GA. Coach Bennett is recognized as a leader in the development of baseball players in the Sandhills and surrounding areas. Over the past 3 years, Coach Bennett has helped over 31 players receive college scholarships. Coach Bennett can’t wait to work with 5 Star and other players this summer!
Coach Devon Lowery is a retired professional baseball pitcher, who played for the Kansas City Royals in 2008. Lowery was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 14th round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. After seven years in the minors, he was called up for the first time on September 1, 2008. After retiring, he became a coach in the Royals' farm system. Amateur Draft from South Point HS (Belmont, NC). High School: South Point HS (Belmont, NC) Debut: September 5, 2008.
Coach Chris Jacobs is a 13 year professional player. Drafted out of high school by LA
Dodgers in 2007. Coach Jacobs was Ranked #1 power prospect in the Dodgers organization by Baseball America.
He reached Triple A level playing with LA Dodgers, Chicago Whitesox and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He has experieced baseball as an International Player competing in 7 countries including Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Australia,
USA and Canada. He's trained as a professional scout and is well versed in player development and evaluation. Coach Jacobs has four years coaching experience at amateur level leading championship teams in Forsyth County Schools and travel ball organizations. He is an instructor and mentor to athletes attending and committed to D1 level programs such as Clemson, Louisville and Florida. He is development and teaching oriented
with a strong focus on improving players' personal performance and skill level!
We are extremely excited to expose our players to these dynamic Coaches, Trainers and Managers. Their experience alone speaks volumes. However, the care, compassion and guidance for players will be immeasurable. We look forward to an exciting season and count it a sheer blessing to have the opportunity to coach the talented young men in the Five Star Fayetteville Baseball Organization.
